The Rundown…

Good morning friends! Coverage on thepinkshoelaces has been pretty spotty this past week – we’ve been busy! Here’s a recap:

Two of my good friends from high school got married last weekend:

Me and Olivia – the bride
Kalissa – Olivia – Regan
Regan and her longtime boyfriend Garret
I was SO jazzed – Regan caught the bouquet! (hint hint Garret!)

We had a ton of fun – Craig ended up missing out on the reception because he was in the combine. Regan is always ready and willing to jump in as my wedding date! We still had a blast – I saw a ton of people from our class and we had a great time. It is so nice – the popular reception hall where many of my friends have their dance is about a block away from my house. I could cut through our backyard in the summer!

Olivia and I were great friends through school and Nic and Olivia were a part of our friend group through high school. They are such a sweet couple and I am so happy for them. Many of my classmates ended up marrying their high school sweet hearts which is so fun but has also made for a CRAZY busy wedding season.

Olivia and I were in a band together in high school called “In the Making” 🙂 Olivia is on the far left, she played piano, Macey is in the middle and she played drums, I sang and played guitar. Macey also married her high school sweetheart and a classmate of ours last year!

Here’s just one example of my friends from high school – everyone but me in this picture has gotten married in the past year
(Ashley will be married in June!) It has been so fun but so busy between weddings, showers, bachelorette parties etc.

Carver got to ride with Craig in the combine on Sunday – he rode for about 6 hours! He did great. Carver is OBSESSED with farming and combines and Craig loves having a buddy!

Feel free to follow Achen Farms on Facebook! I grew up on the home farm, Craig started working for Achen’s in August and my dad worked for Achen’s for 25+ years.

The final PUSH to finish harvesting was last weekend before we got snow. They did it – Craig got home very late on Tuesday night but they are DONE with getting the crops out of the field but that still leaves a lot of work and a lot of cleanup.

The snow did come on Wednesday morning – I worked overnight and caught a few pictures on my way home – if it wasn’t so slippery out it would have been really pretty!

It was such a pretty snowfall I couldn’t even be mad about it!

Gannon has been working on pulling himself up! He’s doing SO GOOD!

But he also has pink eye – courtesy of big brother Carver. We’ve been passing around colds and boogery eyes and runny noses all week. Don’t you just love when kids share? Tis the season!

Carver is OBSESSED with tools right now:

Everything is getting measured, all of his tractors get flipped over and fixed, AND he got a hand me down tool box from some family friends of ours – he was so excited he picked it up and carried it into the living room all by himself! See the video:

Last but not least – here’s a funny for you:

Carver is all about Christmas and the wisemen and the shephards and baby Jesus right now.

The other day he came out and was carrying some liquor bottles. I asked him what his intention was with them and he said “Me bring them to the wise man from baby Jesus!” HA!

I think he meant to say he was going to pretend he was a wiseman and BRING the empty bottle of Malibu and Southern Comfort to baby Jesus like Frankincense and Myrrh!

He wasn’t too happy to get his picture taken but I wanted to remember it 🙂

You’ll hear from me hopefully soon! I’m kind of straying from my Monday Wednesday Friday schedule for a bit to make sure I don’t burn myself out! Check back soon! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

So funny about the empty bottles. Many years ago we had a bucket on our home “bar” where we tossed beer bottle caps. Our daughter’s grade one teacher asked the kids to bring in a “collection” of something from home for show and tell. Our daughter asked her dad if she could take his beer bottle cap “collection” … nooooo! Kids … LOL!

Gotta love it that Carver is following in the footsteps of his dad and his grandfather! Soon he’ll be spending all his time with Craig at the farm or at your mom’s house out in the garage fixing things up. Enjoy this special time with the boys…it disappears so fast!!

I as well as my friends happened to be reading through the great secrets and techniques from the blog and so before long I got an awful feeling I never thanked the website owner for those techniques. These women happened to be absolutely thrilled to read them and already have in actuality been tapping into them. I appreciate you for really being so helpful as well as for making a decision on certain extraordinary information millions of individuals are really wanting to discover. Our own sincere regret for not expressing appreciation to sooner.
