It’s been a LONG 6 weeks. Anders was born on a Wednesday and the following Monday Craig was in the field until yesterday. I got the call from Craig as he was finishing his last 1/4th of an acre. I was at my mom’s. I called the boys into the kitchen and we all celebrated as Craig wrapped up harvest 2022. Mom and I both got a little teary. It’s been a hard season for us. Anders was hospitalized for 5 days, Gannon has missed so much school being sick, I’ve already started back to work one shift per week, my severe ear infection and subsequent daily doctor visits, it felt like we were being tested everywhere we turned.

That phone call was such a relief. Craig will still be working extra hours to catch up on the farm but this is a step in the right direction towards having our family home together again and on a regular schedule.
I know that doesn’t make for much of a blog post but that’s plenty of news for us. Thanks for reading.

As a farm wife, I can totally relate. When the kids were little and our harvest was done after hubby got home from work, it seemed to take forever! Then, of course, it’s like fast forward, the boys grew up and were able to help! And now here I am, the farm cook! We r old enough to move off the farm, but the sons that farm with us each have their own homes where they want to live. Hubby would wither and die in a rocking chair, where there was nothing to puttz with.
Enjoy your family!
Tis the life of a wife who shares her husband with a farm. I know my hubby is basically unavailable from April through September…only this year he’s still not finished! 12+ hour days 6-7 days a week are the norm. So glad the end is in sight for you!!
Great news! I am so happy for you & your family!
