I’m so excited to announce my NEW SHIRT – just in time for Summer!

I’ve been wanting to do a retro shirt for SO LONG but the design wasn’t right. I actually had an ENTIRELY different design picked out for this shirt but it didn’t FEEL right. One day, I was laying down when I was on break on night shift and I sat straight up and I said – this has to be an orange retro font with white detailing. Within 5 minutes, the design I had labored over for literally weeks was scrapped and I had a full complete design ready to send off to the printer. It was that easy!

There are a lot of sayings about sunshine. I had thought about “A Pocket Full of Sunshine,” “walking on sunshine,” “here comes the sun,” “you are my sunshine,” but I FINALLY settled on Sunshine State of Mind.

Iowa winters are BRUTAL and long. It is no secret that I’ve struggled with seasonal depression that is especially worse towards the end of Winter in February and March. Around that time the pretty white snow starts fading, it all turns to muck and mud and mess and I’m just craving that sunshine.

When I think of a SUNSHINE state of mind, I start dreaming about dipping my toes in our pool, watching the kids play on the playset, cracking a cold one on the back porch, taking a bike ride, feeling that sunshine on my shoulders, playing Frisbee with Craig on my mom’s lawn and the grass under my bare feet. I think of all of those feelings I’m craving in the dreary end of Winter wrapped into one phrase: a sunshine state of mind.
