Holy cow, it’s been the LONGEST TIME I’ve gone without posting on the blog since it launched in 2019. I’ve been working like a crazy woman! I haven’t forgot about you, May is just an absolute CRAZY month for us!
I grew a whole year older on May 16th, the big old 2-6. It was the first full day I’d had off in weeks. Craig and I went out the Saturday night before with my bestie Regan and her hubby Garrett. We went out to eat and stopped at a brewery on the way home. I got Toppling Goliath’s new pineapple fandango – cherry fandango is my favorite!!
Sunday morning Craig and I went mountain biking and it was SO FUN – our best run yet! This park is actually about 1 mile from Craig’s parents, neither of us have ever been but we will be heading back for sure! I’m coming to appreciate LONG DISTANCE mountain biking vs. short intense trails. The weather wasn’t as warm as I’m used to on my birthday, but the trails were perfect. We fit in a few miles and went over to pick up the boys from Craig’s parents and enjoyed some lunch with them.
For supper we had a wonderful time at my mom’s, my sister Kelli brought her kids and I just loved me some baby snuggles! Karl was home too! Here we are with Emmett!
Something I suggested we start with birthdays is we have to go around the table and say what we love most about the person who is having a birthday. While I started this tradition when it was someone else’s birthday, it was a little uncomfortable to have the spotlight on me. Mom and I can never get through a round of “special birthday favorites” without crying and that night was no exception. If you don’t do this, I highly recommend you start. I can honestly say, I think 25 was my best year.
It will go down as the year I survived a global pandemic, the year I became an ICU nurse, the year I fell in love with biking, the year I learned to love myself, the year I launched my Etsy shop, the year I healed my relationship with food, and the year I realized some bigger dreams of mine.
Thanks for reading! I’ve got a BIG Etsy shop update coming up this week! Stay tuned and thanks for being patient with me!
