Friedman Family Update! September 2021 edition!

It’s been a minute! Welcome back to the blog, I wanted to let you know what I’ve been up to this past week! First of all, I had like 5 blog posts ready and I just never hit publish *face palm* so HOPEFULLY you guys actually see this post!

I’m sure you’ve already heard about the terrible flooding in my hometown, the damage is terrible – some/most say it’s the worst flood we’ve had, but also comparable to the 1990 flood for how fast it came on.

We’ve been going on daily walks to check out the damage and the progress being made on the cleanup efforts. Check out this fire extinguisher stuck in this fence down by the river!

Fun fact about me, I HATE board games and I really don’t even love playing cards so I took Carver, Georgia, and Gannon on a bike ride while the “adults” had fun playing board games. We went and visited Papa Moo’s rock.

Gannon and Georgia had a rare moment of getting along and were learning how to stick their tongues out. The pictures were adorable.

Carver is learning how to ride bike in town navigating traffic, looking both ways, stopping and braking. He LOVES bike riding and Craig even took him riding on a mountain bike trail last weekend! Ever since then he rides his bike every chance he gets.

I also achieved a personal goal of mine, the trout run trail in Decorah is really tough, there are some massive, steep climbs. I actually have started and quit it many many times. I FINALLY finished all 10 miles in an hour and 5 minutes the other day. The feeling of accomplishment was AWESOME! It’s the perfect workout, there are plenty of times where you work really hard, and then cruise, and then work hard again, and then cruise. I LOVE riding the trail and I’m hoping to fit in a few more runs before snow falls.

Carver started school and some of my favorite time with him is when he gets home from school and we visit as he eats a snack on the counter.

Gannon has an appointment in Iowa City next week to make sure he doesn’t need another surgery on his testicle/hernia. Mom has a cancer check up, Carver’s birthday and birthday party is coming up, we’ve got a lot on our to-do list in the next two weeks INCLUDING something I’m really excited about but more to come on that later!

LOL, I hate board games and cards! Many of our friends and family think that’s so weird, so it’s nice to hear that there are others out there that feel the same way that we do!

So much fun!! I love the visits with Carver on the counter – perfect!!! Pretty soon Gannon and Georgia will be partners in crime and besties – y’all will have to be on your toes then because what one doesn’t think of, the other one will!!!

My personal preference, please don’t take all your pictures with your mouth wide open. I prefer seeing your beautiful face to your mouth, seeing your fake laugh. I was hoping you would get past that phase.

Oh, Lola – did you ever stop to consider that is her true self, full of life and so happy! I’d much rather see her gorgeous wide-open laugh, then some pinch-faced prissyness, or God forbid, no smile at all.

If you don’t like the pictures, don’t read the blog! I’m so happy that Kalissa is in a good place now and enjoy the blog very much.

Her blog, her choice to show pictures of whatever she wants in any way she wants. Her mother smiles and laughs exactly the same way, but you are too busy looking for something to criticize and completely miss the joy radiating from her face! Follow the Kardashian family if you want to complain about totally fake.

Lola, I am beginning to think most people have forgotten the adage ” If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all” which would be one solution for you, the second being “Don’t read the blog” because your personal preferences should not and will not influence the blog. I sincerely hope that you can find the joy in your days.

Lola, your personal preference belongs on YOUR blog not Kalissa’s. Really dear, get a life!
