Birthday Recap

GUYS! I can’t believe I didn’t do a birthday recap! Carver turned 4 last week, last Wednesday to be exact and we had a grand ole time. Here’s what went down:

Carver got to choose what we had for breakfast so he opted for pancakes (of course) and he even got to help mix them (until I got frustrated and impatient and he started dinking around) and I finished them 😉

Carver got to have his best friend Brody over for his birthday! Brody is now a big brother to a tiny baby brother. Brody’s oldest sister was the flower girl in our wedding, their entire family is near and dear to our heart so my mom came over when Brody’s mom dropped him off and we got to meet the new baby! He’s so sweet and he looks just like his older siblings.

Towards evening, we headed over to my mom’s for pizza and cake and ice cream and all things birthday celebrations. Carver and Brody added sprinkles to his cake:

And when the time came to light candles and sing, we had a very 2020 way of including all the aunts and uncles and cousins:

Then it was time for presents…Carver got exactly what he asked for – the very specific tractor with the very specific wagon and very specific attachment and a small tractor for Gannon. Well, that plan backfired. The blue tractor was supposed to be “the little tractor for Gannon” and only a fraction of the price compared to the very specific tractor he asked for.

Well, as it turns out, Carver AND Gannon BOTH want the New Holland tractor and Carver forgot that minor detail when he asked for a tractor for Gannon. Just look at the way Gannon looks at that tractor:

So when it came time to play with the tractors, Gannon was NOT willing to share Carver’s birthday presents as you can see. This was just after putting the presents in the car:

And then when we got home, the drama continues:

And finally, a compromise:

And now, the boys play with the toys as intended. Gannon plays mostly with the blue tractor and Carver mostly with the green. They play with them every day, they love putting tools in their wagons and hauling them all around the house.

So that’s Carver’s birthday recap, a week later. I’ve worked almost every day since then so it’s been a little hectic in the Friedman house! Thanks for reading friends!

Your log is so hard to read. With the white background and the font is almost a light grey it is so hard to read. Please use something different.

Hey, what’s a birthday without tears and a complete meltdown on someone’s part? Our daughter ended every one of her birthday celebrations in tears until she was about 8 or 9.
