ALMOST FREE!

How odd is it that I feel like I have MORE time to blog when I’m busy and working and juggling the kids? I’ve had the past 10 days OFF and completely free, open, and available and I’ve only blogged 2-3 times!

I’ve been BUSY! Still deep cleaning, still working on content, but just loving being home with the boys! Honestly, at first, the boys were driving me a little crazy but I could definitely get used to be a stay at home mom!

We are on day 9 of 10 for quarantine – our last day! We are FREE Wednesday (I’m not back to work until Thursday) but Carver doesn’t have preschool until Thursday.

We are all pretty much back to normal, I get winded easier and still can’t really taste or smell but I’m sure it will all come.

Craig was home early yesterday and went out with Carver. We are working on getting heat in our detached garage so they were digging to make room for a cement pad. Carver was so pooped from working so hard, he fell asleep as soon as he came back inside.

He’s been camera shy lately, I’m not sure why but he did let me snap this picture on the way out the door to go work with dad. Here they are celebrating their hard work with a mug cake.

I’ve been cleaning a lot of random stuff! I’ve yet to find many things that can’t be cleaned/saved with a good oxy clean soak! Here’s my purse:

And I soaked our couch cushion covers – THEY WERE DISGUSTING and our couch feels brand new again! We bought our furniture set right before Carver was born and I was afraid we were going to have to buy a new couch again already but man – the oxy clean was wonderful – I did two separate soaks and then through the wash.

Look at all this stuff I’m pitching too! I sold a ton of it on Facebook, probably made $200 or so bucks in an afternoon just listing stuff!

Anyway, that’s about all I know. We can’t wait to be free back in the world here soon. Taste and smell still aren’t back but I feel like I’m getting there. Craig can taste and smell everything. When you go to bed tonight, I want you to include gratitude for your taste and smell in your nightly prayers. We so take it for granted. Thanks for reading friends.

I’m confused. I thought quarantine was 14 days. Dies it vary in different parts of USA? We’re 14 outside of Boston. Not being fresh – just trying to learn. Daughter exposed and we had to quarantine for 14 days with two negative tests.

Hey! No problem – happy to explain. If you are EXPOSED to someone positive with COVID then it is 14 days because it can take that long to make sure that you don’t develop symptoms. If you HAVE COVID CDC recommends 10 days from start of symptoms AND 24 hour fever or symptoms free without tylenol or ibuprofen – it’s confusing. I have not heard of 2 negative tests for quarantine – that is not something enforced or recommended in Iowa! Thanks for sharing!

Sorry you taste and smell are still AWOL but hope they will soon return. It’s a pain not having them and make eating boring! I’m glad Craig seems back to his normal self andhopeyouwill be soon too.

I can sympathize. I lost my smell in June and it’s still not back (no excuse now to not empty the garbage ?). My sense of taste got really off. Cooking beef still makes me gag and peppers taste like mould. I’m glad you all are feeling so much better now. Enjoy your day tomorrow and get lots of rest before you go back to work.

When you can’t smell or taste your food, it becomes all about texture. Of course, it is a waste to eat chocolate when you can’t taste it!! So glad your quarantine is done…home is a refuge until you can’t leave it! So many things we take for granted until we have to try to live without them…hot water, electricity, heat, A/C and taste/smell. My check is to sniff my dad’s aftershave every day…not that I really go anywhere to catch anything!

HA! That’s a good one – I know a lot of people taste test their toothpaste in the morning – that’s actually how a friend of mine knew she had it! She couldn’t taste her toothpaste in the morning! Sure enough she was positive.
