We had a wonderful thanksgiving weekend even though it didn’t start out the best. Unfortunately we were down 2/5 families attending thanksgiving. My sister Kelli and her three kiddos all have a stomach flu that doesn’t seem to end – today is 7 days!
Kayla’s son Jasper started getting sick about at the same time with RSV. He’s been hospitalized with some viruses before so we were nervous for him but he seems to be doing better except for an ear infection.
So that leaves my brother Buck and his three kiddos, my brother Karl and then our family.
It started on Wednesday night. My brothers and I went out to the bars together and had a wonderful time. We saw many of our old high school friends and it was a great time.

Thursday morning began with HAIR DOS! I just love playing with my nieces hair so the first thing I do, the first thing they ask for is for me to do their hair. I surprised them when I came out of the bathroom with the same hair do!

Our thanksgiving meal was wonderful as per usual. The family took up a Ticket to Ride game. I’m not a huge board game fan so I did some work on my computer in the living room and snuggled Anders.
Friday was another day of cousins playing together. I’ve been working a few hours per week at a jewelry store locally. It’s been SO MUCH FUN. I’ve been helping with their marketing during the holiday season. I decided I would take my niece Lucy to the jewelry store to pick something out for her birthday. She picked out this ice cream cone necklace. It was the beginning of a tradition I can’t wait to continue.

Another new tradition we busted out was the Nintendo 64. We got this when I was about in 7th grade and it still works great. It was the first time introducing it to all the grandkids and boy Carver and Scotty picked up on it RIGHT away. Fun fact, my mom is also pretty good at Nintendo 64! Her and I would play a lot growing up. It was so fun. She challenged Carver and Scotty!
Later on Friday night was when the real fun started – we all went roller skating!! We can’t wait to go again and take all the cousins! We all grew up going to the roller skating rink weekly in the Winter.

Everyone did MUCH better than I expected them to. It was Scotty, Lucy, and Gannon’s first time skating. They all used walkers which really built their confidence. Carver is getting so good I don’t think he needs the walker. We also met with some family friends of ours who are more like cousins. It was great.
Even Lilly got in on the fun at 2.5 years old. They have these push cars and boy she can really cruise in that thing! It was so funny – every time Buck or I say to take a break from pushing her she would just tap us on the leg until we took her out again. She’s very persuasive. Her and I did the limbo even! I LOVE roller skating and I’m actually pretty good at it! It was so much fun.

Saturday was the last day of the cousin fun. Craig and I got to sneak off and have a day to ourselves (and Anders) while Carver and Gannon played with the cousins for the last day.
My brother Buck declared it one of the best Kramer family weekends and I couldn’t agree more. A great time was had by all. I loved that the cousins made memories playing all together, my brothers and I had a great time on Wednesday, and everyone got to just hang out.

Sometimes all 10 grandkids and their parents can get pretty overwhelming so even though we would prefer everyone home for the holiday, we still had a great low key time.

Thank You Kalissa for this update! Looks like everyone had a great time roller skating. Always fun seeing all those little cousins together! What a great way to spend Thanksgiving!
What a marvelous time you all had. I can’t remember the last time I was roller skating but I think I might have to give it a try thought I might need one of those helpful things for beginners. We used to skate all the time in Osage when we visited my grandmothers. Your hair fashion is the best yet, such lovely do’s. Glad the holidays were filled making memories for all the members of the Kramer clan.
I’ve been trying to get your blog by email, but I don’t get a confirmation email
You guys have WAY too much fun, Kalissa!!
